    Week Three Summary

This week was much more time consuming than the weeks before. Which is not surprising as we are getting farther into the semester. It definitely pushed my creative writing side more than it has ever been pushed. I really enjoyed learning more about myself and writing. Honestly, I am glad that this week is over! I did learn quite a lot about storytelling and am excited to incorporate into future assignments. I loved reading through everyone’s blogs and their stories. All were super interesting. I really appreciate the work that each of my classmates have put into their assignments. It is amazing that I am getting to know each of…

    Kira Villiani

Kira was born in Portofino, Italy and was abandoned as an infant. The only connection she had to her past was a gold locket that was left in her basket as a baby. She grew up in an orphanage along the coast in the village. There she was raised by Mrs. Alfonsi, the old woman who ran the orphanage. She was a kind old lady who cared deeply for the children of the orphanage. But Kira was too lost.  When she was ten years old, she ran away and would move from town to town working as she went. After about five years of moving around, Kira joined a gang…

    Blood Test – Archer

I chose to watch an episode of Archer in Season 2. This is one of my favorite shows! I have not watched it for awhile and it was fun to revisit it. In this episode, according to Kurt Vonnegut’s video, Archer is already low on the Y-axis in I (ill-fortune). Then a bomb drops! He might have a son and needs to do a paternity test, therefore Archer drops even lower in ill-fortune as the story progresses on the X-axis. He and his mom plot to change out his blood sample with Cyril, another secret agent in the TV show, so that they can be sure the test will come…

    Little Rosie

The people I live with call me Little Rosie, so I suppose that is my name. There are three people I live with; my mommy, my daddy and my aunty. But my daddy is away on a very important mission. Some things you might want to know about me. One, something is attached to my butt. I do not know what it is, but it is fun to chase and chew on. Two, I really like to eat and chew on plastic things around the house. It makes my family mad and I think it’s funny. Three, my favorite thing of all time is having my neck scratched. And four,…

    My Amazing Grandmother

For this assignment, I chose to write my grandmother a letter. She grew up in Texas and has so many amazing stories about her childhood and family. Granny had four children of her own, my mother included. She has nineteen blood grandchildren with a total of twenty-five with spouses and five great grandchildren. Granny’s life has been so fascinating. She has traveled so many places and met so many people. She had to raise her children while her husband was away at war with little to no communication yet somehow she has always stayed positive. This woman is one of the most amazing people I know. And I am extremely…

    God is a Woman

There are many people that I deeply admire and who inspire me. But the woman who inspires me the most, is Emmeline Pankhurst. She was a woman’s suffrage activist who lived from 1858-1928. Her life was filled with endless acts of selflessness towards women. She founded the Women’s Franchise League which was responsible for securing married women to have to right to vote in Britain and the Married Women Property Acts. “Trust in God – she will provide.” One of my favorite quotes from Emmeline I cannot imagine what it must have been like to be Emmeline. To live in a world where women were not human enough to have…

    Week Two Summary

This was such an exciting week! I learned quite a lot and was able to meet so many people by reading posts. Looking ahead at the coming weeks, I think I am most excited about Week 4: Photography, Week 6: Design and Week 9: Web storytelling. I really enjoyed customizing my blog site! At first I was not sure how I wanted it to look like. I went through quite a few themes before choosing Ashe! I was going to try and go with darker colors and an undercover theme, but I was not happy with my blog when I had that. As I am sure you all can tell…

    Sunflower from My Past

I love tattoos! If I had more money I would be covered in tattoos, that is why I chose this Design Assignment. Sunflowers have been my favorite flower since I can remember. When I was very young, my mom let me plant my own sunflower garden. So I picked out the super tall seeds because I wanted to make a sunflower fort only for me (I have a big family, so having my own space was super exciting)! And it worked! It took a long time for them to grow to the correct height, but I was able to tie the flower heads together for my fort. It made a…

    The Secret to My Stress

This Visual Assignment was perfect for me because, to be quite frank, I am stressed. I am back as a full time student after taking about two years off to figure out my life. The time that I took off was extremely helpful for me. I was able to find the career path that my life is meant to go down. Transitioning from no school to 15 credits is a huge adjustment! But for the first time in my life, I am in school with a purpose! And it makes a huge difference. I chose to go with the #secretagent theme for this assignment because that is an extremely stressful…

The Woman I am Working to be

I chose to do this Web Assignment because I absolutely LOVE designing and decorating homes! Maybe in a past life I was an interior decorator. I basically live on Pinterest, so this assignment gave me so much excitement! My dream rooms tells the story of who I am working to be. A strong, creative and intelligent woman. I am working hard on my goals and making great strides. And that is why I chose this assignment; it is a great reminder of what I am working towards. My color pallet would be one of the two: grey, white, navy blue/teal and yellow… or grey, peach and gold. If I went…
